Position Overview: We are currently seeking a dedicated Asset Management Technician to become part of our high-performing team. This role is essential for monitoring the performance of our Drinking Water Services assets through systematic data collection, evaluation, and analysis. You will play a key role in designing and implementing planned maintenance programs and capital enhancements across our asset network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the performance of Drinking Water Service assets and regularly assess maintenance plans to identify necessary improvements and prepare funding applications.
  • Prioritize health and safety by ensuring all asset-related work is conducted safely, adhering to health and safety policies and the company's Homesafe principles.
  • Ensure resource availability to facilitate the successful delivery of asset initiatives.
  • Provide supervisory support to Network Maintenance technicians, planning and scheduling daily tasks while maintaining communication with the Network Asset Manager.
  • Maintain accurate corporate records related to cleaning, maintenance programs, and pressure management.
  • Complete complex risk assessment and method statement documents for network activities.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to manage field staff levels effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the New Roads and Streetworks Act and Traffic Management Act.
  • Engage with stakeholders to minimize disruption during work, including developers, local authorities, and community groups.
  • Support the achievement of operational delivery indicators through effective resource management.
  • Coordinate with the Network Asset Manager to plan and organize resources to meet operational goals.
  • Share best practices across the Alliance with other managers and technical experts.
  • Work with the Asset Management Team and third-party suppliers to develop work programs that align with strategic maintenance objectives.
  • Provide support to the Drinking Water Services function during emergencies.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with customers, public authorities, and colleagues.
  • Act as a deputy for the Network Asset Manager when required.
  • Participate in standby duties as defined.
  • Aim to achieve top progression within the DWS N&CS scheme and pursue relevant vocational qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • 5 GCSEs at grades A-C or equivalent in Maths, English, and a Science subject; or IOSH/NEBOSH Health & Safety qualifications (or ability to achieve).
  • Relevant experience in water distribution operations and management.
  • Technical knowledge of water network operations, maintenance, and hydraulics.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including MS Office and corporate systems.
  • Surveying skills for assessing street work requirements and asset improvements.
  • Ability to interpret complex information through map and plan reading.
  • Resilience and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Full UK Drivers Licence.
