About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Retail Operations Analyst to join our team at Howden. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth and success of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Onboard new underwriting teams to our Target Operational Model, ensuring seamless integration and process adherence.
  • Assist in maintaining, complying with, and optimizing underwriting processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support the team during binder setup and renewals, focusing on binder testing and regulatory changes.
  • Oversee data entry accuracy for all lines of business, providing exceptional service to underwriting teams.
  • Liaise with internal teams, including Credit Control, Finance, Audit, Compliance, Marketing, and IT, serving as the primary point of contact for underwriting teams.
  • Build strong relationships with carrier and broker partners, fostering collaborative and mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Assist with system monitoring and changes on underwriting and broking systems, including testing and reporting.
  • Serve as the main contact point for binder brokers and carriers, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Manage monthly income and debt reporting, including bordereaux understanding and analysis.
  • Provide management information reporting, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Proactively collaborate with underwriters and stakeholders, responding to queries and providing ad-hoc reporting as needed.
  • Monitor exception reporting, data entry, and quality control, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in insurance operations, with a strong understanding of delegated authorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and methodically, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate new initiatives and ideas, driving process improvements.
  • In-depth knowledge of operational and underwriting practices, with a strong understanding of financial aspects.
  • A strong team player, confident in their abilities and self-starting, with a passion for delivering exceptional results.
