Job Title: Junior Research Grant Officer

University Hospitals Birmingham Trust is a leading NHS Trust committed to advancing healthcare through pioneering research, development, and innovation. The Research Application Support (RAS) Team supports our researchers in obtaining funding to pursue groundbreaking research that has a profound impact both locally and nationally.

Job Summary:

The Junior Research Grant Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting our researchers throughout the grant application process. The individual will provide advice on proposal development, budgeting, and project planning to maximise the chances of funding success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advice on proposal development, budgeting, and project planning to maximise the chances of funding success.
  • Support researchers in identifying funding opportunities and assisting with proposal development.
  • Ensure compliance with funding guidelines and complete costing tools.
  • Manage post-award processes and provide support for a variety of study types, including clinical trials and healthcare data research projects.
Requirements:
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting research initiatives.
  • Background in research, preferably with a solid understanding and experience in clinical research delivery.
  • Familiarity with the UK funding research landscape and comfortable working with a diverse group of researchers and teams across complex organisations.
  • Excellent IT skills, including a high level of proficiency in the MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
