Job Summary:

The City of Birmingham is seeking a skilled Grants Management Coordinator to oversee grant applications and special funding projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing financial documents, managing contracts with grant-sanctioned organizations, assessing grant proposals, and ensuring compliance with grant regulations.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and contribute to the success of our grant management program. As a Grants Management Coordinator, you will work closely with our grant team to ensure that all grant applications and special funding projects are managed effectively and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate contracts with grant-approved agencies and ensure compliance with grant regulations.
  • Prepare financial and budgetary information, including financial reports and budget analyses.
  • Manage grant funds and ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines.
  • Prepare reports for supervisors and agencies, including grant progress reports and final reports.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience in contract preparation/execution and project/program management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in grant compliance and financial reporting.
  • Experience in federal program implementation.

Work Environment:

This is a primarily indoor office setting with occasional field visits.

Physical Demands:

This is a primarily sedentary job with occasional walking or standing.
