About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director to join our Financial Services Indirect Tax team at Grant Thornton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical advice to clients across the Financial Services sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scope, deliver, and bill client work, ensuring high-quality technical advice and compliance with firm risk management processes.
  • Lead and guide more junior staff in researching and producing work that meets the firm's commitment to quality.
  • Provide technical advice on Indirect Tax matters, supporting decisions with knowledge of legislation, case law, and technical analysis.
  • Produce technical work that requires minimal review and conveys key points to clients and stakeholders.
  • Review the work of other team members.

Requirements

  • Experience in Indirect/VAT Taxes, preferably from an advisory or in-house environment.
  • Relevant tax qualification (CTA/ATT).
  • Experience advising financial institutions on areas such as partial exemption, cross-border supplies, and the impact of recent judgments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to forge long-standing business relationships.
  • Comfort working in a mixed-discipline team and driving projects to conclusion.
  • Experience advising on complex technical indirect tax matters.
