Job Overview:

As a Learning Support Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to assist students with special educational needs in reaching their maximum potential.

You will collaborate closely with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and other educational professionals to ensure that students receive tailored support and encouragement to thrive both academically and socially.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with additional needs, either one-on-one or in small groups.
  • Assist students with their academic tasks and homework assignments.
  • Support behavior management initiatives and encourage positive conduct.
  • Offer constructive feedback to educators regarding student progress.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians.

Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Experience in working with children and young individuals, ideally within an educational context.
  • A solid understanding of special educational needs and the challenges that some learners may encounter.
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • The capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • A proactive approach to supporting students with additional needs.

Qualifications:
A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or an equivalent credential is preferred but not mandatory.
