We are seeking a Visual Merchandising Assistant Manager to become a vital part of our Home Retail Marketing team at Next.

Role Overview

In this position, you will play a key role in crafting and sustaining an engaging shopping atmosphere for our customers, with a specific focus on Home. Your responsibilities will include developing visual merchandising layouts and standards, overseeing a team of Visual Merchandisers, providing support to retail locations, and continuously exploring innovative strategies to enhance the department's performance.

You will be tasked with identifying and managing significant projects within the Home Visual Merchandising sector, primarily for retail locations. This includes effective collaboration with internal departments, retail teams, and external vendors. Additionally, you will design and develop new display equipment while adhering to budgetary constraints.

As part of your duties, you will step in for the Visual Merchandising Manager during their absence, which includes supporting and coordinating team members, participating in meetings, and making critical decisions as necessary.

You will ensure that the Home Visual Merchandising team's budgets are regularly monitored, and any financial concerns are communicated to the Visual Merchandising Manager. You will also assist in preparing budget proposals for each new season.

It is essential to create a seasonal planner for Home Visual Merchandising well in advance, ensuring all relevant layouts and projects are included, along with a timeline for each initiative.

This is a full-time, permanent position based at Next's Head Office.

Key Responsibilities

Overseeing product layouts Planning and executing visual merchandising transitions with the VM team in line with the Retail Marketing schedule Maintaining communication with the Home product team throughout the layout process Contributing creatively to the layouts and display equipment Researching and providing feedback on ideas to improve layouts through merchandising and equipment Leading projects to advance the Home department Supporting store openings, reconfigurations, and refurbishments Coordinating visual merchandising guideline documentation for each phase Drafting communications and memos for retail locations Serving as the primary contact for product teams and store inquiries

Candidate Profile

Strong planning and time management abilities Experience in supervising team members Ability to lead, support, and inspire a team Demonstrated personal drive, motivation, and resilience Excellent written and verbal communication skills Capacity to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines Willingness to travel or stay away for short periods and work additional hours as needed Experience with Home products is desirable but not mandatory Background in Visual Merchandising within a retail context Familiarity with Indesign and Photoshop is a plus
