Position Overview

As a vital member of our finance department, you will report directly to the Finance Director. This role is essential for our ongoing growth and success, particularly as we expand our operations across various regions. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing compliance, governance, and financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee internal payroll processes for the UK
  • Manage non-UK payrolls through external partners
  • Conduct daily reconciliations of bank accounts and manage multi-currency banking
  • Handle vendor payments and approvals, ensuring accurate reporting
  • Develop and implement policies related to procurement, sales, inventory, and treasury
  • Prepare and analyze monthly working capital reports, communicating insights effectively
  • Generate quarterly working capital reports for the CFO
  • Reconcile balance sheets on a monthly basis
  • Collaborate with the FP&A team to ensure timely and accurate management accounts
  • Lead the annual audit process with a reputable firm
  • Provide necessary information for VAT returns to third parties
  • Submit monthly VAT returns for the UK
  • Reconcile excise duty accounts monthly and process related payments
  • Work closely with operational teams to maintain accurate records and resolve discrepancies
  • Create and manage short-term cash flow forecasts and reports

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficient in Excel and experienced in inventory management
  • Knowledgeable in accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Familiar with balance sheet reconciliations and audit procedures
  • Understanding of UK VAT regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and business partnering abilities
  • Organized and capable of prioritizing tasks effectively

Preferred Skills and Experience

Experience with accounting software such as Xero and Cin7 WMS, familiarity with the alcohol industry, and exposure to international finance will be advantageous.
