Position Overview - Lead Logistics Coordinator

Location: Crawley

Streamline Search is excited to announce an opportunity for a Lead Logistics Coordinator to become an integral part of our client's innovative logistics team. The successful candidate will possess significant experience in both air and ocean freight logistics, along with a comprehensive understanding of customs laws and protocols. This position is essential for facilitating the effective and compliant transit of goods across global borders.

Key Responsibilities of the Lead Logistics Coordinator:

  • Oversee and manage the complete logistics cycle for air and ocean freight, ensuring efficient and economical movement of products.
  • Engage with carriers, shipping companies, airlines, and other logistics partners to negotiate favorable rates and timelines.
  • Draft and verify shipping documents, including bills of lading, airway bills, and freight invoices.
  • Guarantee that all shipments adhere to international customs standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with customs brokers and agents to ensure smooth customs clearance.
  • Prepare and submit essential customs paperwork, including import/export declarations and duty payments.
  • Act as the primary liaison for clients, delivering outstanding customer service and addressing any freight forwarding inquiries or challenges.
  • Build and nurture strong client relationships, understanding their unique logistics requirements and offering customized solutions.
  • Provide clients with regular updates regarding shipment progress and proactively address any potential delays or issues.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely arrivals and resolve any logistical obstacles that may occur.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including warehousing and distribution, to ensure seamless logistics operations.
  • Stay informed about updates in international trade laws, customs processes, and industry developments.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, including hazardous materials management, trade restrictions, and security measures.
  • Conduct routine audits of logistics processes and documentation to maintain accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications for the Lead Logistics Coordinator:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics management with a focus on air and ocean freight.
  • Proven expertise in customs processes and regulations.
  • A successful history of managing complex international logistics operations.
  • Experience leading a small team of logistics operators and clerks.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary range: £45,000 - £50,000
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Company pension plan
