The successful applicant will possess comprehensive knowledge in both air and maritime freight logistics, along with a robust grasp of customs laws and protocols. This position is crucial for guaranteeing the efficient and compliant transit of goods across global borders.
Key Responsibilities of the Lead Logistics Coordinator:
- Oversee and manage the complete process of air and maritime freight logistics, ensuring timely and economical delivery of products.
- Collaborate with carriers, shipping companies, airlines, and various logistics service providers to secure the best rates and schedules.
- Draft and verify shipping documents, including bills of lading, airway bills, and freight invoices.
- Ensure all shipments adhere to international customs laws and standards.
- Work closely with customs brokers and agents to facilitate efficient customs clearance.
- Prepare and submit essential customs paperwork, including import/export declarations and duty payments.
- Act as the primary liaison for clients, delivering outstanding customer service and addressing any inquiries or issues related to logistics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their unique logistics requirements and offering customized solutions.
- Provide clients with regular updates on shipment progress and proactively address any potential delays or disruptions.
- Monitor and track shipments to guarantee timely arrivals and resolve any logistical challenges that may occur.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including warehousing and distribution, to ensure seamless logistics operations.
- Stay informed about changes in international trade laws, customs practices, and industry developments.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, including hazardous materials management, trade restrictions, and security measures.
- Conduct regular evaluations of logistics processes and documentation to ensure precision and compliance.
Qualifications for the Lead Logistics Coordinator:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics management with a focus on air and maritime freight.
- Demonstrated expertise in customs procedures and regulations.
- A proven history of managing intricate international logistics operations.
- Experience leading a small team of logistics operators and clerks.
