Job Title: Deputy Planning Team Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Team Leader to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our theatre operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support and deputise for the Team Leader, taking managerial, clinical, and professional responsibility for a team of practitioners.
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality patient care in the most efficient and safe manner, in accordance with Directorate and Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement effective plans to improve theatre efficiency and patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and address areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance patient care.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Current level one NMC registration or HPC registration part 1.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and recent study relevant to theatres/recovery.
  • A Teaching/assessing/leadership qualification.
  • Junior/Supervisory management course.
  • 2 years' experience in a high acuity setting.
  • Competent in complex clinical skills.
  • Evidence of ability to manage unstable patients (AIMS/ Acute care skills or equivalent).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively.
Working Environment:

This role will be based in our busy theatre operations department, where you will work closely with a team of experienced professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. You will be required to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the department.
