Job Title: Deputy Planning Team Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Planning Team Leader to join our team at the Transformation Unit.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a high visible presence in the clinical area, ensuring that Trust values and behaviours, theatre etiquette, training, policies, and procedures are appropriately followed. This will involve leading by example and speaking up to motivate the team and provide a positive influence to improve theatre efficiency and ensure patients receive a high quality of safe and efficient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to use your own initiative, are essential for this role.
  • Effective planning and organisation of your time and the ability to work under pressure are also crucial.
  • You will need to have considerable experience within the recovery aspects of the operating department and sound clinical knowledge within the area of emergency surgery.
  • A recognised mentor qualification and the ability to demonstrate evidence of teaching and clinical supervision within the clinical setting are also required.
Requirements
  • Current level one NMC registration or HPC registration part 1.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and recent study relevant to theatres/recovery.
  • A Teaching/assessing/leadership qualification.
  • Junior/Supervisory management course.
