About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our team at East London NHS Foundation Trust. This is a specialist role that requires a deep understanding of child and adolescent mental health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive assessments and interventions to facilitate an understanding of young people's strengths and needs.
  • Develop and deliver specialist training programs and supervise other staff groups.
  • Participate in audit, evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to policy and service development.

Person Specification
  • Three-year Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) as accredited by the BPS.
  • At least one year post-qualification experience as a Clinical Psychologist in Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
  • Experience of providing direct clinical services to children, adolescents, and their families with severe and complex mental health difficulties.
  • Experience of completing neuropsychological assessments and using a range of outcome measures.
  • Experience of developing and delivering specialist training programs and supervising other staff groups.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Relevant specialist training or experience in CBT, Child Neuropsychology, or Systemic Work.
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural setting, including working with interpreters.
  • Knowledge of and experience in offering DBT with young people and/or their families.
Key Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills.
  • Ability to provide and receive complex, sensitive, or contentious information in a highly emotive and sometimes hostile atmosphere.
  • Strong analytical and judgemental skills, including the ability to draw upon a broad theoretical knowledge base.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize own workload.
