Luton, Luton, United Kingdom East London NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned clinical psychologist to take on the role of Lead Clinical Psychologist within our Adult Inpatient Services. This position offers the potential for full-time engagement.

This role presents a remarkable opportunity for professional growth alongside a team of committed psychologists and mental health practitioners. The successful candidate will provide senior clinical and strategic contributions to our inpatient units, catering to adults facing intricate and severe mental health challenges. The ideal applicant will possess extensive experience in this environment and with this demographic, demonstrating a history of fostering trauma-informed therapeutic settings for both clients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will exhibit the clinical acumen and requisite experience to operate autonomously, making swift and informed clinical decisions while employing exceptional assessment and formulation skills. A commitment to working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) is essential, as is the ability to offer guidance and consultation to fellow professionals. The role includes contributing to staff training and support, including reflective practice opportunities. Additionally, the post-holder will oversee the supervision of qualified, trainee, and pre-qualified psychology personnel, as well as provide training and guidance to MDT colleagues in delivering psychosocial interventions. Strategic input to enhance the acute psychology service will also be expected.

About the Organization

As part of the East London NHS Foundation Trust's psychology workforce, the post-holder will participate in regular psychology meetings focused on clinical governance and peer-led continual professional development (CPD). There will also be opportunities to engage in broader initiatives aimed at workforce issues and the cultivation of trauma-informed cultures throughout the organization. The psychologists within the Trust are trained in various therapeutic models, allowing for knowledge sharing and access to consultations across different methodologies.
