Job Overview

Spherical Search is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Specialist to join our team in the field of aerosol formulation development. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for exercising expertise in the development of innovative and safe products for inhalation drug delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement scientific and technical strategies for aerosol formulation development, including biologics formulation development, particle engineering, and pressurized metered dose inhalers (pMDIs).
  • Lead the development of formulations, including excipient and process choices, for nasal sprays, nebulizers, pMDIs, and dry powder platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and prepare new proposals of work, including participation in initial and ongoing discussions with customers and the development of costing models and charging structures.
  • Support the Pharmaceutical Development teams in the company, enabling the delivery of revenue-generating portfolios of work for customers, internally and externally.
  • Conduct novel research and development in the field of aerosol-based delivery technologies and associated disease state treatments, including the development of new inventions and intellectual property.

Requirements:

  • PhD in a relevant discipline, preferably with a strong background in pharmaceutical aerosol formulation development.
  • Extensive experience in formulation development in the drug delivery field, particularly in peptides and/or proteins.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present at scientific meetings, webinars, and conferences.
  • Proven team management experience, with strong leadership skills and the ability to exert influence over those whom you do not have direct authority.
  • Excellent customer-related experience and client-facing skills, with the ability to communicate and work with personnel of all levels, internally and externally.
