Role Overview:
The Internal Communications & Engagement Manager plays a pivotal role in orchestrating all employee communication initiatives, including internal events and enhancing internal messaging throughout the organization. This position is tasked with crafting, executing, and sustaining a robust internal communications strategy and action plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and uphold the communications strategy and plan aligned with the organization's business goals.
  • Oversee the execution of all internal communications as per the communications plan, utilizing diverse and engaging mediums.
  • Continuously enhance and manage the company intranet.
  • Compose, edit, and curate content for various internal communication channels, including the staff intranet, corporate presentations, and regular newsletters.
  • Address feedback from employees and modify communication content as necessary.
  • Draft messages or scripts for senior executives for company-wide presentations in both written and spoken formats.
  • Establish a framework for effective communication channels and processes, ensuring employees have access to essential information for their roles, including:
    • Management Communications: Encompasses Management Committee meetings, blogs, bulletins, and communications related to change management initiatives.
    • Integration Communications: Involves all-staff meetings, lunch and learns, and other relevant activities.
    • People Involvement Communications: Covers focus groups, employee engagement surveys, newsletters, intranet updates, wellbeing campaigns, etc.
  • Collaborate with the People team to ensure effective communication and completion of employee engagement surveys, pulse surveys, and polls.
  • Partner with the People team to implement the employee engagement strategy.
  • Be prepared to create ad-hoc communications for stakeholder meetings or webcasts.
  • Manage the delivery of all internal events (both virtual and physical), including team-building days and other engagement activities.
  • Provide direct line management for the Communications Coordinator.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:
  • Proven experience in developing and executing an internal communication strategy.
  • Ability to think creatively, transforming complex information into clear and engaging content for internal audiences.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience engaging with all levels of internal stakeholders, including Senior Leadership Teams.
  • Confidence in public speaking.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Adaptability and maturity to thrive under changing demands and competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with internal digital and social media tools and their application in enhancing engagement.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
Desirable:
  • Experience managing a small communications team.
  • Background in the energy sector.
