Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality psychological care to patients across a range of settings, including outpatient, community, primary care, and inpatient settings.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing specialist psychological assessment and treatment to patients with a wide range of mental health conditions, including functional neurological disorders.
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Conducting research and contributing to the development of new treatments and interventions.
  • Providing training and supervision to junior staff members.
  • Contributing to the development of policies and procedures related to psychological care.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and neuropsychology.
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of patient groups, across the whole life course, presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity.
  • Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention, and management, frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.
  • Ability to teach and train others, using a variety of complex multi-media materials suitable for presentations within public, professional, and academic settings.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology.
  • Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of patients across the full range of care settings.
  • Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention, and management.
