Join Our Team as a Control Systems Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Project Engineer to join our team at MWH Treatment's ESD, Stepps office. This role offers a unique blend of field and office-based work, requiring a solutions-driven individual with excellent technical and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Scope Definition: Ensure the project scope is adequately defined and an optimal strategy is selected for migration to minimize risk to customer process.
  • System Replacement and Development: Support projects concerned with replacement of obsolete C&I systems/equipment or development of new systems, particularly control/PLC systems.
  • Technical Review and Presentation: Undertake a technical review of proposals and present bid comparison technical notes to senior managers/clients.
  • System Integration: Ensure Systems Integration contractor is focused on deliverables to support project milestones on time and on budget and to the correct technical standard.
  • Risk Identification and Communication: Identify technical risks on projects clearly and communicate them to the project manager and other stakeholders.
  • Technical Blockers and Solutions: Review technical blockers and liaise with stakeholders to consolidate technical solutions from technical expertise to remove blockers.
  • Project Migration and Commissioning Plans: Review project migration and commissioning plans to ensure the delivery schedule contains necessary activities and sequence of execution to optimize delivery of project.
  • Technical Solution Compliance: Review proposed technical solutions to ensure compliance with customer specification.
  • Technical Issue Record Keeping: Maintain records for all technical issues and implemented solutions during the project software delivery cycle to support Lessons Learned.
  • Process Safety and Reliability Assessments: Understand process safety, fault analysis, and reliability assessments using recognized techniques such as FMEA, FTA, LOPA, HAZID, and HAZOP.
  • Project Reviews and Contributions: Contribute to project reviews with technical inputs and strategies.
  • Standard Product Methodology: Support a standard product methodology mindset, seeking opportunities to re-use solutions, improve quality and reliability while reducing delivery timeline and associated cost.
  • Commissioning Plans and HAZCOMM Meetings: Take a leading role in development of Commissioning plans and HAZCOMM meetings.
  • Issue Escalation: Identify issues early and escalate to the project manager to agree mitigation measures.
