Planning Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated Planning Officer to join our team at Tunbridge Wells Borough Council. As a Planning Officer, you will play a key role in determining applications and delivering high-quality development in our borough.
Our ideal candidate will have knowledge and understanding of town planning and be looking to progress their planning career. You will be part of a well-balanced, dedicated, and supportive team, dealing with a variety of applications in the context of attractive, interesting, and varied rural and urban environments.
Key Responsibilities- Manage your own case load of planning applications, pre-application advice requests, and other work
- Deliver high-quality development in line with expert policy and evidence
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve departmental goals
- Provide excellent customer service to stakeholders
We offer a flexible working arrangement with a minimum of two days in the office and the opportunity to work at home for the remainder of the week. Additional benefits include 22 days annual leave (increasing to 27 days after 5 years continuous Local Government service), plus an additional day in December.
