We are seeking support workers for our short breaks service in Clevedon, where we support children and young people aged between 14 and 25 for overnight stays to develop independence skills as part of our pathways to adulthood service.

As a support worker, you will be flexible to support across the week, including pick up and drop off at school/college, as well as weekends, support after school and in the school holidays.

You will work on a 1-1 basis to develop and work towards individualised outcomes, which may be based around managing money, socialising, cooking, cleaning, and everyone's pathway will be different.

Lots of fun and engaging activities are planned for the people we support, such as swimming, bowling, sports lessons, and the cinema.

The support you provide will be centred around each person's values, preferences, and needs.

You will also need to support with personal care and medication needs.

We have full and part-time hours available, and you could work a range of different shifts, including 7am - 3pm, 3pm - 9.30 pm, 8am - 8pm, and 7am - 10am.

You will also be available to do occasional sleep ins.

We offer a range of benefits, including sleep-ins paid at £60 extra, full training to gain the nationally recognised Care Certificate, time to complete training is paid, and we cover the cost of DBS checks.

We also have a rota planned in advance.

Successfully 'recommend a friend' to join us and you'll receive a thank-you payment.

Key Responsibilities:

To empower the people we support to live the lives they want to lead.

To develop daily living skills.

Support the people we support to access their communities for social activities, employment, training, or friendships.

To contribute to, develop, and implement the individuals' care plans.

To communicate effectively and professionally with people we support, their family members, and external professionals.

Maintain the health needs of the individuals we support.

We are looking for outgoing, active, and dynamic individuals with a can-do attitude and a desire to help someone live a full life.

You will need to have good communication skills, a positive and patient approach, be resilient and respect people's differences, be able to build professional relationships, be a confident problem solver and creative thinker, and work well as part of a team.

If you have experience of working with children or young people, that's even better.

Full UK Driving License is essential.
