Role Overview:

Cleveland Clinic London is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Specialist to enhance our Patient Access Team. In this role, you will be supported by the Senior Contact Centre personnel and will manage all outpatient scheduling responsibilities. Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative spirit are essential, as you will serve as the initial point of contact for all outpatient inquiries. Your primary focus will be on the precise and timely collection of demographic and financial information required before patient visits, ensuring outstanding customer service in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all scheduling needs to deliver a highly efficient, patient-centered outpatient booking service.
  • Proactively engage with patients to ensure all outstanding registration data is collected and scheduling is completed within set timelines.
  • Accurately gather demographic and financial information.
  • Coordinate with insurance providers and other payers to secure necessary authorizations.
  • Provide cost estimates to self-paying patients and collect payments as needed.
  • Encourage patients to register for the CCL MyChart App to manage their financial and demographic details.
  • Assign incomplete bookings to the pre-registration work queue for completion.
  • Collaborate with clinical departments to maintain proper scheduling workflows.
  • Communicate effectively with relevant clinical departments to ensure a seamless patient experience.
  • Cross-train in various areas of Patient Access as required.
  • Adhere to hospital and departmental policies, particularly regarding attendance, confidentiality, and professional appearance.
  • Complete mandatory training to maintain departmental competencies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a healthcare environment or contact centre is preferred.
  • Familiarity with patient booking systems in a hospital setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new challenges and support team objectives.
  • Capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
