Position Overview:
Teaching Personnel is in search of a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Teacher. This position provides a remarkable opportunity to positively impact the educational journey of students with special needs by offering them the necessary support, guidance, and instruction to flourish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, prepare, and deliver customized lessons that cater to the unique needs of students with SEND, ensuring they reach their maximum potential.
- Evaluate, monitor, and report on student progress, modifying teaching techniques and resources as required to accommodate various learning styles and capabilities.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, support personnel, and parents/carers to establish and uphold an inclusive and nurturing educational atmosphere.
- Employ effective classroom management techniques to create a safe and stimulating learning environment.
- Coordinate with external agencies and specialists, such as educational psychologists and speech therapists, to support the comprehensive development of students.
- Remain informed about best practices, legislation, and educational resources related to SEND to continually enhance teaching methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Experience in working with children with SEND in either primary or secondary educational settings.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, including Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a sincere commitment to supporting students with special educational needs.
- Possession of an enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
