Are you committed to enhancing the educational experience for young individuals? We are looking for a passionate and empathetic Learning Support Assistant to provide essential support to secondary students with special educational needs within an alternative provision setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with special educational needs in small group environments.
  • Engage students in classroom activities, ensuring inclusivity and participation.
  • Foster strong, trust-based relationships with students to enhance their social and emotional well-being.
  • Utilize positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques to address and de-escalate behavioral challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with educators and staff to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Provide individualized support as necessary, aiding students in skill development and confidence building.

Essential Qualities:

  • Experience working with secondary students with special educational needs.
  • Ability to establish strong, trust-based relationships with students.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive outlook.
  • Capability to manage behavioral issues calmly and effectively.
  • Dependable, hardworking, and dedicated to fostering student success.

The ideal candidate will effectively communicate with students, guiding them to reach their full potential. Reliability and a genuine commitment to supporting students with special educational needs are crucial. Building trustworthy relationships with students and helping to overcome barriers to education is essential.

All compensation rates quoted will include statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of a permanent role in the future.
