We are looking for a devoted and empathetic Learning Support Assistant to collaborate with secondary students in an alternative provision school in Liverpool. Your role will involve providing customized assistance in the classroom to enable students to reach their maximum potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist students with special educational needs in small group environments.
  • Engage with classroom activities, ensuring participation from all students.
  • Establish strong, trust-based connections with students to enhance their social and emotional well-being.
  • Manage and de-escalate behavioral challenges using positive reinforcement and effective strategies.
  • Work alongside teachers and staff to create and execute Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Offer personalized support as required, aiding students in developing their skills and self-confidence.

  • Experience working with secondary students with special educational needs.
  • Ability to foster strong, trust-based relationships with students.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive outlook.
  • Capability to address behavioral issues calmly and effectively.

The ideal candidate will be someone who can effectively communicate with students, guiding them to perform to the best of their abilities. Reliability and a genuine interest in supporting students with special educational needs are crucial. You will work closely with school staff to build trustworthy relationships with students, helping to dismantle any barriers they may have faced in their educational journey.

All compensation rates will include statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role in the future.
