Position Overview

Kennedys is seeking an Associate to contribute to our Birmingham, Cambridge, or Sheffield offices, focusing on NHS Resolution clinical negligence claims and inquests.

Opportunity

This role presents an excellent chance for candidates with a keen interest in clinical negligence to become part of a distinguished Division, recognized in the top tier for Defendant Clinical Negligence by both Chambers and Legal 500.

Team Dynamics

The Healthcare division provides counsel to NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts, and medical malpractice insurers from private hospitals, clinics, and practitioners regarding EL/PL and clinical negligence claims. Our team offers guidance on medical insurance coverage, health law, and regulatory issues, and represents clients in inquests and judicial reviews. We have a strong presence across various locations, including London, Cambridge, Sheffield, and Birmingham.

Clientele

  • NHS Resolution
  • NHS Healthcare clients
  • Independent hospital groups and practitioners

Casework

  • A diverse array of clinical negligence claims

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience as a UK Qualified Solicitor or CILEX qualified with relevant expertise
  • Experience in claims and inquests
  • Prior client interaction and participation in business development activities
  • Understanding of insurance and coverage matters
