Role Overview

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position is responsible for overseeing the quality management of the Hub during night operations. The aim is to ensure that all operational aspects align with established procedures while meeting both internal and external Customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Additionally, the role involves achieving Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets and maintaining strict oversight of direct costs and staffing levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the local and national distribution processes to enhance sorting accuracy.
  • Foster and strengthen relationships between the hub, Supply Chains (SCs), and depots to promote efficiency and best practices across the network, while improving SLAs and trunk departure schedules.
  • As the senior manager for Health and Safety, you will advocate for safe working conditions through regular meetings and collaboration with Safety representatives.
  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements and conduct cost/productivity assessments.
  • Drive and enhance multi-skill training within the Hub, collaborating closely with all SCs.
  • Ensure compliance with all security standards relevant to Customer contracts.
  • Deliver on hub SLAs consistently.
  • Conduct regular reviews of volume forecasts and adjust resource planning as necessary.
  • Establish clear control measures to achieve and drive KPI success.
  • Promote a positive work environment that delivers exceptional service levels for Customers and generates revenue for the organization.
  • Implement and uphold best operational practices through effective management of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain the site’s Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
  • Foster a culture of timely trunking.
  • Ensure timely connectivity of all trunks by prioritizing and organizing resources effectively.
  • Deliver outstanding Customer service consistently.

Essential Qualifications

  • Comprehensive understanding of operational procedures and familiarity with DX operating systems is beneficial, though not mandatory.
  • Experience in adhering to Health & Safety legislation.
  • Strong grasp of Human Resource procedures.
  • Basic budget management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Preferably, experience in the logistics, mail, or secure mail services sectors.
  • Proven experience in team management.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Capability to liaise and influence across various functional areas.
  • Experience in managing change effectively.
  • Previous experience in the Mail, Parcels, or Distribution Industry within a Hub environment is essential.
