CraigTech Solutions. The Roads & Highways Recruitment Specialists is seeking a highly skilled Highway Operations Manager to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in managing UK Highway Maintenance Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the management of highway inspections and asset teams, as well as reactive, cyclical, and winter maintenance programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of Highway Inspections and Asset Teams: Lead and manage a team of professionals responsible for conducting regular inspections of the highway network to identify areas of concern and develop strategies for maintenance and improvement.
  • Oversight of Maintenance Programmes: Provide strategic oversight of reactive, cyclical, and winter maintenance programmes to ensure that the highway network is maintained to the highest standards.
  • Collaboration with Sub-Contractors: Work closely with sub-contractors to deliver road surfacing, barrier replacement, pothole repair, road marking, and other schemes within the highway maintenance portfolio.
  • Cost Control: Work with the commercial manager to control maintenance costs and ensure that the company is operating within budget.
  • Contract Performance: Work with the wider leadership team to ensure a high level of contract performance and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Proven Track Record: A proven track record in managing UK Highway Maintenance Operations is essential for this role.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills are required to manage a team of professionals and work with sub-contractors.
  • Strategic Thinking: The ability to think strategically and develop plans to improve the highway network is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills are required to work with stakeholders and communicate the company's vision and goals.
