About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Highways Infrastructure Manager to join our team at Lincolnshire County Council. As a key member of our Local Highways team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and maintenance of our highway network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of reactive highway services, with a focus on improving our response to drainage and flooding issues.
  • Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure those affected by highway issues receive the best possible response and service.
  • Lead and manage a team of highway officers, providing coaching, mentoring, and guidance to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve highway safety, reduce congestion, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents and visitors.
  • Collaborate with elected members, the public, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and concerns, and develop solutions that meet their expectations.
Requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to resolve issues and provide a high level of service to the public.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve their best.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in highway management, with a strong understanding of the principles and practices of highway maintenance and improvement.
  • A valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle, to enable you to travel across the county and respond to highway issues.
