About the Role

Our Street Works Team is responsible for managing and coordinating street works carried out by both the council and statutory undertakers on public highways. We adhere to NRSWA and TMA regulations to ensure safe and legal operations.

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative individual to join our team as a Highway Infrastructure Inspector. Your primary responsibilities will involve inspecting, documenting, and reporting on street works, highway infrastructure, and surface apparatus defects. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and codes of practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive inspections of street works, highway infrastructure, and surface apparatus defects.
  • Accurately record and report findings in accordance with NRSWA and associated regulations.
  • Ensure all works on the highway are carried out safely and legally, adhering to NRSWA requirements.
  • Address any breaches of regulations promptly and effectively.
  • Prepare evidence and witness statements for illegal activities.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess recognized New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 accredited training, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of Local Authority and highway network operations. Proven experience in Street Works in accordance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 is essential.

You should also exhibit strong teamwork abilities while being capable of working independently. A thorough grasp of the Code of Practice for the Specification for the Reinstatement and Openings of Highways is crucial. Excellent customer focus when interacting with members of the public and other third parties is highly valued.
