About the Role

Fresh Horticultural Careers is seeking a dedicated Estimator to enhance our landscape division. This position is ideal for individuals with a background in landscape, construction, or quantity surveying, who excel in delivering precise estimates for various client projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive cost budgets and estimates for upcoming projects and tenders.
  • Revise existing tenders by making necessary adjustments, creating new estimates, and maintaining effective communication with clients and contract managers.
  • Draft detailed and articulate proposals for clients that comply with guidelines while providing competitive and thorough cost estimates.
  • Collect firsthand information from sites and suppliers to inform estimates.
  • Conduct research on labor costs, materials, and production timelines.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all documentation, including site assessments and contract terms, ensuring they are kept up to date.
  • Foster relationships with clients, identifying new business opportunities and establishing connections with potential clients.
  • Collaborate with construction managers and the design team to promote development, innovation, and creativity in client projects.
  • Upon contract award, transition the project to the pre-construction phase, working closely with construction managers and the design team.
  • Submit reports and coordinate with other teams within the company to support business development and profitability.
  • Prioritize client satisfaction by regularly checking in with clients to ensure a high level of satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Hands-on experience in both hard and soft landscape construction.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in estimating or quantity surveying within commercial landscape, residential design and build landscape, or a closely related field.
  • Strong understanding of finance and management principles.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with clients and adopt a sales-oriented approach.
  • Commercial experience in managing legal contracts, main contractors, as well as valuations, variations, and insurances.
  • Educational background in construction, quantity surveying, landscape construction, or horticulture, ideally to Degree / OND / HND level.
