Overview of the Position

Balfour Beatty is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Manager to become a vital part of our Power Transmission & Distribution Team. This position involves overseeing a team of Health & Safety Advisors while collaborating with the Scotland Health & Safety team across various projects.

The primary responsibility will be to lead a team of Health & Safety Advisors, focusing on enhancing the safety protocols for significant electrical infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, your daily tasks will include:

  • Offering expert guidance, support, and compliance monitoring regarding Health and Safety (H&S) to ensure adherence to Balfour Beatty's integrated Business Management System (BMS), legal standards, BSI regulations, and Client expectations.
  • Managing a team of Health & Safety Advisors effectively.
  • Engaging with on-site personnel, providing coaching and support on H&S matters, and promoting a culture of safety on-site.

  • A minimum of a Diploma or Degree level education.
  • Membership in a relevant professional organization (such as IOSH).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade.
  • An approachable demeanor.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • A commitment to embodying Balfour Beatty's core values consistently.
  • Experience in incident investigation and fact-finding.
  • Proficient record-keeping abilities.
  • Relevant experience aligned with the specific project or business area.
