Cost Management Specialist (Civils / Groundworks)

Location: Covering sites around the South West

Are you a Cost Management Specialist with a background in Civils / Groundworks, seeking a pivotal role within a dynamic organization? This position offers the opportunity to work independently on Commercial projects across the South West, complete with a company car and avenues for career advancement as the organization expands.


This close-knit firm is a Civil Engineering Contractor that has experienced significant growth since its inception, establishing multiple offices across the South of England.

They have developed a loyal clientele and are now looking to welcome a Cost Management Specialist to their friendly team to manage an increasing workload.


In this diverse role, you will primarily operate autonomously as the lead Cost Management Specialist, responsible for conducting site assessments, budgeting, cost oversight, and collaborating with clients and subcontractors on-site.

Your responsibilities will be split between working closely with a dedicated office team and visiting sites across the region, with occasional travel required—approximately once per week.


This independent role is ideal for a Cost Management Specialist with experience in Civils / Groundworks projects, eager to join a supportive team within a growing company that offers continuous professional development opportunities.


Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site assessments, manage budgets, and oversee cost control
- Collaborate closely with subcontractors and engineers both on-site and within the office
- Manage contracts and prepare financial documentation
- Negotiate with clients, contractors, and fellow surveyors
- Work Monday to Friday with flexible hours (8.5 hour days)
- Cover sites throughout the South West, with travel approximately once per week

- Experienced Cost Management Specialist
- Background in Civils / Groundworks or a related field
- Willing to travel occasionally within the region
