Senior Systems Engineering Lead

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Systems Engineering Lead to contribute to our projects at Subsea 7 on a permanent basis.
As part of the Systems Engineering division, the Senior Systems Engineering Lead will play a crucial role in delivering a technically sound and optimized system solution for significant projects executed by our organization. This includes defining system functional requirements, resolving critical design decisions, managing technical interfaces, mitigating risks, and implementing design validation processes to ensure effective and suitable design solutions.
The Systems Engineering Lead will oversee the comprehensive system design in large, multi-disciplinary technical teams, representing our organization and its capabilities. This will involve engaging with clients to showcase our strengths and demonstrate our capacity to handle complex and diverse project scopes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehending and communicating system design and functional requirements.
- Understanding and articulating design drivers and decision-making criteria.
- Leading the technical coordination of discipline work-scopes that encompass the function and design of all system components.
- Ensuring mechanical and functional compatibility and consistency throughout the system.
- Managing design trades to enhance system performance in relation to identified drivers and decision-making criteria.
- Recognizing client drivers and incorporating them into design and equipment selection.
- Applying a holistic view and decision-making to typical activities such as PFDs, schematics, block diagrams, field layout, production assurance, reliability modelling, testing philosophies, and material selection.
- Supporting the Tender team in interpreting client requirements and developing execution strategies.
- Identifying, assessing, and managing key system technical risks, ensuring critical risks are escalated.
- Acting as an ambassador for our organization, promoting our technical solutions and unique advantages.
Desired Experience:
Candidates should possess a strong technical background complemented by commercial insight.
- Background in Systems Engineering.
- Proven ability to lead multi-discipline technical teams in subsea projects.
- Experience in managing interfaces within engineering teams, including technical disciplines and key stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, and electronic.
- Familiarity with collaborative working practices.
- Prior experience in Design Leadership or Project Management.
- Significant experience in areas such as Subsea Engineering, Flow Assurance, Production Operations, or Project Engineering.
- Experience in hardware package delivery (Systems, Trees, Controls, Pipelines, Manifolds, etc.).
- Installation experience.
