Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Lead to join our team at Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service, you will be responsible for leading a team of Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs) in delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions to individuals with mild to moderate mental health needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of PWPs in delivering Step 2 interventions, including guided self-help, telephone support, and online therapy sessions.
  • Ensure effective delivery of IAPT-compliant therapies and maintain high standards of clinical practice.
  • Provide line management supervision and clinical skills supervision to Senior PWPs.
  • Develop and implement policies, protocols, and guidelines to improve service delivery and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless service delivery and effective risk management.
  • Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives, including the development of new interventions and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain accurate records of service delivery and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Therapies or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in leading a team of PWPs in an IAPT service.
  • Excellent clinical and leadership skills, with a strong focus on quality improvement and service development.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and service users.
Person Specification
  • Postgraduate certificate in Low Intensity CBT interventions or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of providing professional support and supervision to staff.
  • Understanding of Health and Social Care Governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience in delivering training and developing clinical skills of other staff.
  • Ability to demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge of mental health practice in a primary care setting.
