About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Worker to join our team at Southdown, a leading provider of mental health services in Sussex.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide one-to-one and group support to clients experiencing crisis, utilizing the Peer Support Model to empower individuals to explore their needs and develop coping strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide peer support to clients experiencing mental health crises
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients to understand their needs and goals
  • Collaborate with the team to provide comprehensive support services
  • Participate in regular training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of working in mental health or equivalent transferable skills
  • Genuine passion for supporting people to explore their needs
  • Ability to work in a psychology-informed way, recognizing individual experience, strengths, and potential
