Position Overview

As a Project Financial Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial aspects of significant projects. This position requires a qualified accountant with a strong background in project finance or contracting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Leadership: Act as the financial lead for major projects, contributing to strategic planning, operational performance, and enhancing organizational efficiency.
  • Team Management: Develop and maintain a high-performing finance team that is trusted and customer-focused.
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly cost and value accounts, along with other financial reports, adhering to all relevant accounting standards.
  • Cost Control: Understand and manage costs, balance sheets, and cash flow performance effectively.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with commercial teams to assess and influence business performance while managing associated risks.
  • Budget Preparation: Prepare budgets and analyze performance against these budgets to ensure financial health.
  • Reconciliation: Conduct monthly reconciliations and liaise with the accounting services team to ensure accurate transaction recording.
  • Team Development: Lead and coach team members to foster high performance and develop a talent pipeline.
  • Project Bank Account Management: Oversee reporting related to project bank accounts for both clients and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications

While experience in a contracting or project-based environment is preferred, it is not mandatory. Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly Oracle, is advantageous. Strong data management and advanced Excel skills are essential, especially the ability to work with complex datasets.

Additional Skills

Experience with data visualization tools such as PowerBi or Excel PowerQuery is beneficial, along with a willingness to learn and adapt as the organization seeks to enhance its digital capabilities.
