Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual to contribute to our innovative service within the local authority, emphasizing wellbeing and support for children and families.

Compensation: NJC Grade 8 £30,296 - £33,024 per annum
Work Schedule: Full-time (37 hours per week), Monday - Friday
Employment Type: Fixed Term Contract/secondment until specified duration.
Work Location: The role will involve travel across various locations, with flexible office bases available.

Responsibilities

Are you enthusiastic about fostering inclusion in educational settings? Do you have a drive to achieve positive outcomes for children and their families?

This role involves working as part of a specialized team, providing psychological support and additional opportunities within the educational psychology framework.

In this capacity, you will engage with children, adolescents, and their families to assess the need for further assistance or guidance. You will utilize your psychological expertise across diverse educational environments.

All activities will be overseen by a qualified Educational Psychologist; depending on your experience, you may collaborate with an Educational Psychologist, work alongside a colleague, or operate independently.

This position is ideal for individuals aspiring to pursue a postgraduate qualification in educational psychology.

Team Structure

Our specialized service comprises multiple area teams and offers essential functions, including:

  • Assisting the Senior Mental Health lead in schools or colleges to implement or enhance a comprehensive approach.
  • Delivering evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health challenges.
  • Providing timely guidance to educational staff and coordinating with external specialists to ensure children and young people receive appropriate support.

Our Educational Psychology Service is organized into area teams, each managed by a Senior Educational Psychologist, offering a variety of support to educational institutions, including mental health assistance, consultation, and training.

Our leadership prioritizes the development and wellbeing of our team, ensuring comprehensive induction support, regular supervision, and dedicated peer support time.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should possess an Honours Degree in Psychology or an equivalent qualification that meets the Graduate Basis for Registration with the British Psychological Society.

We seek individuals who are passionate about promoting mental health and emotional wellbeing, with a strong commitment to inclusive practices for children and young people.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel independently to various locations, which may not be easily accessible by public transport.
