Senior Planner Opportunity

We are working with a leading privately owned house builder in Chelmsford to strengthen their team with an experienced planning manager.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the team and report directly to the managing director, while collaborating with the head of land. The business is currently acquiring a significant amount of land and has several large strategic sites in the pipeline.

As a Senior Planner, you will be responsible for handling residential planning applications, with a strong understanding of the operating region and current policies. You will work on projects that deliver high-quality family homes in desirable locations, providing a challenging and rewarding experience.

We are seeking a bright, articulate, and ambitious planner with a degree qualification and MRTPI membership. You should have at least 6 years of post-graduation experience, with a proven track record of handling complex planning applications in Hertfordshire and Chelmsford. Your expertise in large-scale strategic land planning and 100+ unit projects will be highly valued.

Key requirements include:

  • Proven experience in planning applications in Hertfordshire and Chelmsford
  • Detailed knowledge of large-scale strategic land planning and 100+ unit projects
  • Director-level calibre and motivation to succeed
