Job Summary:

We are working with a leading privately owned house builder in Chelmsford to find an experienced Planning Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with the management team and report directly to the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the planning function, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
  • Develop and implement planning strategies to support the company's growth and development.
  • Work closely with the land acquisition team to identify and secure new development opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, including drafting and submitting planning documents.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Provide expert advice on planning matters, including policy and legislation.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified with MRTPI.
  • 6+ years post-graduation experience in planning, preferably in a house builder or consultancy.
  • Proven track record of managing planning applications and projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong knowledge of planning policies and regulations in Hertfordshire and Chelmsford.
