Job Title: Harassment Support Worker

The University of Essex is seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to join our Inclusion team as a Harassment Support Worker. This is a unique opportunity for professional development and to make a positive impact on the university community.

About the Role:

We are looking for a volunteer who can provide a confidential listening and advice service to staff members through the University of Essex Report and Support System. The successful candidate will have experience working with diverse groups, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise and support staff members who have experienced harassment, bullying, or other forms of discrimination.
  • Identify and provide access to relevant support services and resources.
  • Keep accurate records of meetings and interactions with staff members.
  • Participate in regular network meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students and staff from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Completed the online How We Work at Essex essential training, specifically the EDI section.
