Job Title: Harassment Support Worker

The University of Essex is seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to join our Inclusion team as a Harassment Support Worker. This role is a unique opportunity for professional development and growth, focusing on providing a confidential listening and advice service to staff members through our Report and Support System.

About the Role

As a Harassment Support Worker, you will work closely with the Inclusion team to provide a safe and supportive environment for staff members to report and address harassment and bullying incidents. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing confidential advice and guidance to staff members on how to address harassment and bullying incidents
  • Identifying and signposting staff members to relevant support services and resources
  • Collaborating with the Inclusion team to develop and implement strategies to prevent harassment and bullying
  • Attending regular network meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on best practices and policies
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working with diverse groups and individuals
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Completed the online How We Work at Essex essential training, specifically the EDI section
