Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team at Virtuoso Recruitment Limited. As a Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in managing the day-to-day financial operations of our portfolio of companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Tasks: Take care of administrative tasks, such as correspondence, filing, and printing.
  • Customer Records: Maintain accurate and detailed customer records and create new customer accounts.
  • Bookkeeping: Bookkeeping, entering all financial transactions onto the ledgers with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Complete daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Direct Debits: Collect direct debits and match payments.
  • Management Accounts: Support the preparation of management accounts and month-end duties.
  • Purchase Invoices: Process purchase invoices, supplier payments, and remittances, and liaise with suppliers.
  • Sales Invoices: Process sales invoices, customer receipts, direct debits, and liaise with customers for overdue collections.
  • Month-End Journals: Assist with preparing and posting month-end journals such as prepayments, accruals, and depreciation calculations.
  • Reporting: Assist the preparation of monthly management reports.
  • Communication: Build a good rapport with other functions and provide teams with relevant information.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Relevant degree with a 2:1 or higher or relevant experience in a similar role and/or currently studying a recognized accountancy qualification.
  • Skills: Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the company and externally, high numerical and analytical skills with the ability to deal with large volumes of data, proficient in Excel (familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems such as Sage & Xero would be preferred but not essential as training will be provided).
  • Personal Qualities: Desire to learn new skills and take on responsibility when required, high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
