Job Title: Lead Speech and Language Therapist Learning Disability Service

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Appoint Healthcare. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of a highly specialized SLT service to individuals with neurological and mental health needs, as well as learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Speech and Language team to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Plan and prioritize a complex clinical caseload with advanced specialist assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Take a lead role in diagnosis, problem formulation, and rehabilitation planning within the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
  • Provide and evaluate interventions as part of an MDT approach and implement service developments.
  • Develop and deliver in-service education and training programs for the wider MDT.

Requirements:

  • HCPC registration
  • Postgraduate dysphagia training
  • Minimum 2 years of experience at Band 7 level in a neurorehabilitation setting
  • Supervisory experience
  • Proven ability to manage a complex caseload independently in neurorehabilitation
  • Successful candidates will undergo an Enhanced DBS check
