About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our School-Aged Team in Lewisham. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with primary and secondary schools to provide support for children with speech, language, and communication difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage speech, language, and communication difficulties in children aged 4-8 years with severe learning disabilities and complex social, communication, and interaction difficulties, including autism.
  • Develop and implement new ways of working to improve the service provided to children and young people.
  • Work collaboratively with the Therapies Manager and other team members to ensure the service is integrated, evidence-based, and delivered in accordance with care pathways and protocols.
  • Provide training and support to other staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge in speech and language therapy.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a recognized Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent, and a strong background in working with children with a wide range of speech, language, and communication needs. The ideal candidate will have experience of training others and be able to demonstrate post-qualification experience working in a similar role.
