Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Band 6 Children's Nurse to join our dynamic team in the Paediatric Emergency Department at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. As a Band 6 Nurse, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills, working closely with our senior nurses and Clinical Practice Education team.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, safe, and effective care to children and their families in the Paediatric Emergency Department. This will include:

  • Assessing and managing patients with a range of paediatric conditions
  • Developing and implementing individualised care plans
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care
  • Providing education and support to junior staff
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values
  • Qualified RSCN and/or RN with extensive ED experience
  • Post-graduate AED Course or working towards one
  • 998 or equivalent
  • Proven paediatric experience in ED
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload
  • Ability to provide high-standard holistic family-centred care
