To enhance its Application & Support division, NST Recruitment Limited is seeking to hire an Application Support Engineer. This role, classified as a 3rd Line Application Support position, entails delivering specialized technical assistance, overseeing projects and compliance, engaging with clients, and participating in on-call and incident management responsibilities, which may involve travel across Europe.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Guide and assist new team members, particularly during on-call responsibilities, to foster their confidence and preparedness.
  • Design and set up new client environments, focusing on specific areas (such as PLA, shipping inquiries, Ansible scripting), and lead knowledge transfer workshops.
  • Work collaboratively with external partners to ensure software interoperability, aid in the creation of detailed Requests for Change (RfCs), and maintain critical documentation.
  • Deliver expert assistance for customized solutions, manage escalated issues, and oversee all facets of application administration and upkeep.
  • Travel to client locations for system deployments, address security concerns, and identify and rectify recurring challenges.
  • Continuously enhance service quality, participate in performance evaluations, and comply with organizational guidelines and policies.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Linux operating systems (Debian 11, Ubuntu).
  • Experienced in containerization technologies (Docker).
  • Skilled in Ansible.
  • Proficient in database querying (Microsoft SQL, MariaDB, MySQL, Cassandra).
  • Familiar with web servers (IIS, Apache, Nginx).
  • ITIL Foundation certification or relevant ITIL experience (preferred).
  • Knowledge of SSL certificates and virtual server platforms (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Octopus deployment automation (preferred).
  • Proficient in scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell) (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in 3rd line support (preferred).
