About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Victim Support. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing emotional and practical support to individuals affected by crime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver personalized safety and support plans for service users, providing resources, interventions, and information to ensure their well-being.
  • Work closely with volunteer supporters to provide a seamless service to clients, promoting a culture of collaboration and mutual respect.
  • Liaise with local providers to share information on our service offer and options for victims and survivors, ensuring a comprehensive approach to support.
  • Utilize our bespoke case management system to maintain accurate and confidential records, contributing to monitoring information and outcome collection.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of the impact of crime on victims, including sexual violence, hate crime, and anti-social behavior.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience of delivering services in a statutory, voluntary, or multi-agency setting, with a proven track record of success.
  • Ability to balance competing needs and priorities, working independently and as part of a team.
  • Personal resilience to manage exposure to highly emotional or sensitive demands of the role.
  • Ability to manage a caseload, including complex case management, and use generic IT applications competently.
  • A driving license and access to a vehicle, as regular travel is required for this role.
