Position Summary

The Family Operations team is responsible for delivering essential services to vulnerable children, young individuals, and complex family units. This role involves working closely with a Team Manager and collaborating with a dedicated team of professionals focused on providing exceptional social work services across various areas, including Assessment & Intervention, Family Support & Protection, and Fostering & Adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a defined caseload, working effectively with children, young individuals, and their families to foster positive change and improved outcomes.
  • Conduct assessments and develop plans to support families facing complex social care needs, ensuring compliance with relevant legal frameworks and policies.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to build effective relationships that empower families and enhance their ability to participate in their communities.
  • Implement interventions to safeguard children from abuse, neglect, or exploitation, including making recommendations for statutory interventions when necessary.
  • Facilitate alternative care arrangements in partnership with families when they are unable to provide adequate care.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of case activities and participate in planning and decision-making forums.
  • Support the development of social work students and newly qualified social workers through mentorship and guidance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A recognized qualification in social work, with current registration as a social worker.
  • Proven ability to practice in accordance with professional standards and frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills and emotional intelligence to navigate challenging family situations.
  • Proficiency in using information technology and case management systems.
  • Flexibility to travel across a wide operational area and work outside of standard hours when required.
