Role Overview:

The position of a Children and Family Support Specialist involves a diverse and fulfilling role, assisting children and families with various complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishing strong relationships with all family members through close collaboration.
  • Facilitating positive transformations within families.
  • Providing both practical and specialized guidance while coordinating with other support services.
  • Managing an individual caseload effectively.
  • Assessing and managing safeguarding risks to children.
  • Leading a specific area of professional practice, such as mental health, by supporting team members and collaborating with external professionals.
  • Demonstrating flexibility to meet the needs of families, including occasional work outside standard office hours.
  • Operating across designated areas as required.

Candidate Profile:

  • Extensive practical experience working with children and families facing multiple and complex challenges.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience in relevant fields such as Domestic Abuse, Substance Misuse, Education, Mental Health, or Parenting.
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
  • Proficient in maintaining records on a computer-based system and completing assessments and documentation in an accessible yet professional manner.

Mobility Requirements:

Mobility throughout designated areas is essential, with a valid driving license and access to a vehicle or alternative means to meet the role's mobility requirements.
