Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is passionate about enhancing the quality of life for individuals recovering from neurological conditions. This role is situated within the Regional Neurological Rehabilitation Unit, where the successful candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating engaging leisure activities for our clients.

The selected candidate will be responsible for planning and executing a variety of recreational programs tailored to the needs of our service users, both in individual and group settings. This position is vital to our multidisciplinary team, and the coordinator will also oversee a team of volunteers, ensuring effective recruitment and management.

Key Responsibilities

The Rehabilitation Activities Coordinator will collaborate closely with a diverse team of healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, psychologists, nursing staff, and medical practitioners. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing leisure and recreational activities that align with the rehabilitation goals of our clients.
  • Working alongside therapists to develop goal-oriented programs that facilitate the transition of clients back to their community and social activities.
  • Engaging with department heads and the Service User Group to ensure that the activities provided meet the needs and preferences of our service users.
  • Managing and mentoring volunteers who assist in delivering these activities, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with neurological conditions.
  • A relevant educational background, such as A levels or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and teamwork skills.

Desirable qualifications include prior experience in a leisure coordination role and familiarity with budget management.
